Notwithstandig anything contained in this rule, any candidate who appeared in the Civil Services Examination, 2011 but is otherwise ineligible for Civil Services Examination, 2015 due to attainment of upper age limit on the crucial date for examination prescribed under this rule, shall be permitted an additional attempt in the Civil Services Examination, 2015.

Candidate already selected under IAS or IFS- not eligible to appear in UPSC 2015.
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/PH Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pfee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by Cash, or by using net banking facility of SState Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/Sate Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala /STravancore or by using Credit/Debit Card.

The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages (vide Appendix I
(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination(Objective type) for the selection of candidates
for the Main Examination; and
(ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of
candidates for the various Services and posts noted above.
Applications are now invited for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination only.
Candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination will have to apply online again, in the Detailed Application Form which would be made available to them. The Main Examination is likely to be held in December, 2015.
Restrictions on applying for the examination :
A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete at this examination.
In case such a candidate is appointed to the IAS/IFS after the Preliminary Examination of Civil Services Examination, 2015 is over and he/she continues to be a member of that service, he/she shall not be eligible to appear in the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2015 notwithstanding his/her having qualified in the Preliminary Examination, 2015.
Also provided that if such a candidate is appointed to IAS/IFS after the commencement of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2015 but before the result thereof and continues to be a member of that service, he/she shall not be considered for appointment to any service/post on the basis of the result of this examination viz. Civil Services Examination, 2015.

The Key Points for you to remember in this 2015 notification are :
1. GS Paper II ( CSAT ) is only a qualifying paper now. You have to ensure a score of only 33% to qualify through it. But we recommend you try to score the best possible. Do not take it lightly, because you do not know while solving the test as to how many of your answers may be correct/wrong.
2. GS Paper I is the name of the game now. Try doing your best in it. PT's Mock Test Series for Prelims 2015 is geared to help you score better. Make full use of it.
3. The Mains Exam system remains exactly as it was in 2014. All papers and syllabi remain exactly the same.
